Delete Your Account

This page explains how to request deletion of your Anomalia account and the personal data associated with it. There are two ways to do it — one inside the app, one by email — and both are free. You can also delete only some of your data without closing your account (see Section 3).

Deleting your account does not cancel an active subscription. To avoid future charges, first cancel through Google Play or the Stripe customer portal, according to where you subscribed. You keep paid access until the end of the current billing period, but deleting the account removes your ability to use that access.

1.Delete it yourself, in the app or in the web reader (fastest)

If you can still sign in, this is the quickest route and takes effect immediately. It works the same way on Android and in the web reader at anomalia.app/app, and it is the same for free and subscribed accounts:

1. Open Anomalia — the Android app or the web reader — and sign in with your Google account.
2. Go to Profile.
3. Scroll to the bottom and choose “Delete account” (the small red link).
4. Confirm in the dialog. Your account and data are deleted and you are returned to the sign-in screen.

2.Request deletion by email

If you have uninstalled the app or cannot sign in, email us and we will delete your account for you:

• Send to: hello@anomalia.app
• Subject: Delete my account
• From: the email address linked to your Anomalia account (so we can verify the request).

We acknowledge requests within 7 days and complete them within 30 days, at no cost, in line with our Privacy Policy.

3.Delete only some of your data (keep your account)

You do not have to close your account to remove specific data. If you want us to delete a particular category — for example, your reading history and streak, or your favourites — while keeping your account active, email hello@anomalia.app from the email address linked to your account and tell us which data to remove.

This covers your rights to erasure, rectification, and data portability under the GDPR and CCPA. We acknowledge the request within 7 days and complete it within 30 days, at no cost. See our Privacy Policy (Section 7) for the full list of rights.

4.What gets deleted

Deletion is immediate and irreversible. There is no grace period and no way for us to restore an account once it is gone, so make sure you want to close it before you confirm. We permanently remove the following:

• Your account record: email address, Google profile name and avatar, and your internal user identifier.
• Your reading history and streak.
• Your favourites (bookmarked mysteries).
• Your push-notification token and notification history.
• Your Firebase Authentication login.

5.What we must retain, and for how long

A small amount of data survives deletion, either because the law requires it or because it is not linked to your identity:

• Subscription and billing records — retained for 7 years from the last transaction, as required by Spanish accounting and tax law (Ley 58/2003, General Tributaria). These are financial records; we never hold your payment-card number (Google Play or Stripe handles payment).
• Anonymous analytics — product-usage counters that are not linked to your email, name, or user identifier. They expire automatically within 24 months.
• Crash reports — technical diagnostics with personal identifiers stripped out, automatically deleted within 90 days.
• A record that the deletion happened — your internal user identifier (a random string, not your name or email) and the date and time of deletion. We keep it so we can show that erasure requests are actually carried out. It contains no name, email, reading history or payment data. We review these records periodically and delete those we no longer need; deletion is a manual process, so we do not promise a fixed expiry date.
• Internal payment-event logs — a note that each subscription event from RevenueCat was processed, holding your internal user identifier, the product, the store and the timestamp. Erased after 1 year.
• Backups — there are none. We keep no backup copies of account data, so nothing survives deletion in a backup and there is no copy left to expire.
